Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Recognizes 15 Women Professionals at First MAKERS Conference

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management has recognized 15 outstanding women professionals, many of whom recently attended the first MAKERS conference that brought together women leaders across multiple fields.

“At Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, we are fortunate to have many highly accomplished women professionals working as financial advisors and in other key roles.  Our affiliation with MAKERS gives us an opportunity to recognize these women and also to showcase the attractive career opportunities wealth management provides for women with talent and drive,” said Gregory Fleming, President, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

Nominations were solicited from across the wealth management organization, and a panel of senior managers selected the 15 women to be recognized initially as part of the MAKERS initiative.  They are:

A number of these individuals attended the MAKERS conference February 10-12 in California, where they engaged with a wide spectrum of women leaders to discuss issues of gender equality and professional advancement for women.  Speakers included Gloria Steinem, writer and feminist; Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook; Martha Stewart, Founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia; Geena Davis, actress and Founder of Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media; Cady Coleman, NASA astronaut; and Gabrielle Giffords, former U.S. Representative.

Also attending the conference from Morgan Stanley was Ellen Bailey, a Financial Advisor in Purchase, NY, who introduced the firm to the MAKERS organization.
