Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) today announced that Masahiro Shuto will be appointed as President and Representative Director of Morgan Stanley Investment Management (Japan) Co., Ltd. as of July 1, 2022.
Mr. Shuto joins Morgan Stanley from AXA Investment Managers Japan Ltd. where he served as President and Japan Chief Executive Officer. Before taking that role in 2017, he was responsible for running the institutional sales business in Japan, contributing to increasing Asset Under Management in both traditional and alternative asset classes in Japan. Prior to joining AXA, Mr. Shuto worked at Deutsche Securities and JPMorgan Securities in Japan for more than 10 years, having mainly engaged in dealing and distribution of real estate-related structured financial products and rates derivatives.
