Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) today announced the appointment of Vinay Ahuja who joins the Firm's Private Wealth Management (PWM) division in India as Market Director for the Southern region. Mr. Ahuja, who joined the Firm on January 21, is based in Chennai and will focus on sales efforts in Bengaluru, Chennai, Heyderabad, Mysore and Coimbatore. He will succeed Sameer Gupta, who will relocate to Delhi as Market Director, North and East, with responsibility for markets including Delhi, Punjab and Kolkata. Mr. Gupta joined the Firm in 2008.
Commenting on Mr. Ahuja's appointment, Himanshu Bhagat, Head of Sales for Morgan Stanley PWM in India, said, "We are delighted to have Vinay on the team. Mr. Ahuja has over ten years of experience in sales. He started his career in 1999 at Cholamandalam Cazenove AMC, thereafter he was at DSP Merrill Lynch from 2000 to 2005 in various sales roles. He joins the Firm from Deutsche Bank where he has spent the last six years in the sales function.
Mr. Ahuja holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Symbiosis Centre for Management.
