Showcases meaningful gifts and funding opportunities, and promotes awareness of non-profit organizations

New York —

To assist in making the holidays more meaningful for the non-profit community and the constituencies they serve, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney is pleased to announce the launch of its 2010/2011 Perspectives in Philanthropy Gift Catalog for clients.  The catalog showcases meaningful gifts and funding opportunities, and promotes awareness of a wide spectrum of 20 non-profit organizations, both geographically and mission diverse, that are working to make their local communities, the nation and the world a better place.

"Many of our clients are looking for advice on how to make their giving more impactful and they are turning to us for advice," said Melanie Schnoll-Begun, Managing Director of Philanthropic Services, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.  "Clients are becoming more mission driven about their philanthropy and our goal is to help them achieve significant results with their giving.  The Philanthropic Gift Catalog features a wide spectrum of nonprofits that our clients might not already know about, and is just one of the many resources we provide our clients."

In the catalogue's cover letter directed to friends and clients, Douglas Ketterer, Head of U.S. Private Wealth Management, said, "Whether it be purchasing a papier-mache rooster created by a Haitian artist or funding an internship for a teenager with intellectual disabilities, you are supporting organizations that are working in some of the world's most neglected and marginalized communities."
