Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) today announced the appointment of Michael Kushma as Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income. In this role, Mr. Kushma will oversee all of MSIM's fixed income strategies.
Mr. Kushma is currently Co-Head of MSIM's Global and European fixed income team and has 23 years of investment experience. Since joining MSIM in 1995, Mr. Kushma has helped to oversee the Global and European fixed income team which comprises 20 investors based in London, New York and Tokyo and has approximately $25 billion in assets under management.

As of March 31, 2010, MSIM has approximately $56 billion of assets under management1 across a range of U.S., Global and European fixed income strategies spanning duration ranges, markets, and sectors.
Mr. Kushma's appointment follows several recent hires to strengthen the leadership team of MSIM, including:
- Sara Furber, Chief Operating Officer, Long-Only business
- Jim Janover, Global Head of MSIM Risk
- Lisa Jones, Global Head of MSIM Sales
- Navtej Nandra, Head of MSIM International

Michael Kushma is Co-Head of MSIM's Global and European fixed income team. Mr. Kushma joined Morgan Stanley in 1987 and has 23 years of investment experience.
