1. What is Greenlight?

Greenlight is an app and debit card built for families.  Clients can load money onto the card from their own Greenlight app and they can easily manage and see where, when, and how much family members spend, while helping them learn to manage their money. 


2. What are the key features of the Greenlight App?

3. Is there a minimum age?


The debit card can be opened for family members of all ages (no minimum or maximum age required).


4. Is there a fee or cost associated with the Greenlight App?


The monthly fee is $4.99 but this is waived for Morgan Stanley CashPlus Brokerage Account clients when they link their CashPlus account as the funding source for the Greenlight account.


Note:  Greenlight may charge other fees such as for ATM withdrawals, card customization, card replacement and other product upgrades that are not waived as part of the CashPlus benefit.  Other third party charges may apply. 

Clients are encouraged to review all fees and terms related to the service at before enrolling.


5. What if I am a CashPlus client who is already current Greenlight customer?


Existing Greenlight customers will not be able to sign up through Morgan Stanley Online or the Mobile App.

In order to take advantage of the complimentary offer, please follow these steps:

  • In the Greenlight App add the CashPlus Account and routing number as the primary funding source
  • Contact your Morgan Team for next steps to help you get the monthly Greenlight fee waiver


6. Is this a debit or credit card?


Greenlight is a Mastercard debit card not a credit card. There is no extension of credit or effect on credit score.  The debit cardholder can only spend what has been transferred to them.


7. How long will it take for my card to arrive?


The Greenlight debit card will typically be received in 7-10 business days after a request is placed.

You may opt for expedited shipping at an additional cost.


8. Does Greenlight work with Apple Pay and Google Pay?


Yes, as soon as you sign up for Greenlight, the Greenlight debit card details can be added to Apple Pay or Google Pay* to tap and pay in an instant.

*Subject to Apple Pay and Google Pay age requirements.


9. How many Greenlight debit cards can I open?


Clients may open up to 5 cards for their family members.
