London —

London, October 26, 2010 – The board of the City Fellowships in Financial Services announced that Morgan Stanley Managing Director David Buckley has received the first Walker Award for Commitment to Diversity in Financial Services. The award was established as a living memorial to Lord Walker, whose career-long commitment to equal opportunity for women and ethnic minorities was without equal in the modern history of the City of London.

Presenting the award, Dr. Ray Raymond MBE commented, “Throughout his career, David has demonstrated an exceptional understanding of and commitment to diversity in financial services. He has been an inspiration to our own Fellows not only by his own exemplary conduct, but also by the amount of time he has advised and mentored them. David has made a profound difference in our Fellows’ lives and careers as he has the lives of so many other young minorities underrepresented in the financial services industry. It is for these reasons that we have made him the first recipient of the Walker award.”

Founded to help young American minority financiers living in London, The City Fellowships in Financial Services aids young professionals in gaining valuable experience and knowledge of the financial services industry while strengthening Anglo-American financial relations. Receiving the Walker Award for Commitment to Diversity in Financial Services is a testament to the recipient’s career-long dedication and outstanding commitment to the empowerment of women and ethnic minorities in the City of London.

Accepting the award, David Buckley said, “The commitment of the City Fellowships in Financial Services to diversity and the professional development of young minorities in London has been an inspiration to me throughout my career. I am honored to receive the Walker Award for Commitment to Diversity in Financial Services and am determined to continue to help create a more inclusive culture in the City of London”.
