Placement and duration

The Full-time Analyst position is group-specific for one of the following areas: Investing, Risk, Sales & Marketing. The majority of opportunities are in our London offices, but there may also be select positions in other regional offices. Our goal is to continue to build a workforce that is diverse in experience and background, but uniform in reflecting our standards of integrity and excellence.

Training program

The Program begins in July with five weeks of intensive classroom training. This includes business presentations, practical sessions, and the chance to exchange ideas and learn from your peers. You will join Analysts from Investment Banking, Sales & Trading and Research in the combined training program, which covers accounting, financial modeling and capital markets. At the end of the training, we hope that Analysts have built a strong network amongst their peers and are able to understand financial concepts, build a dynamic model and have a strong understanding of the Morgan Stanley culture.

Analysts are hired onto a specific desk where they remain for the duration of the Program. Roles fall within the following two streams:


  • Our Investment Management teams offer our clients global investment experience across the spectrum of traditional financial assets (stocks, bonds, money market instruments and alternative investments), private and liquid markets, senior loans and absolute return strategies.
  • Investment team members assume roles as portfolio managers, portfolio specialists, research analysts (fundamental and quantitative) and strategy specialists.

Sales & Marketing:

  • Investment Management Sales, Marketing and Product Development teams work in partnership with the investment teams to offer products and services tailored to distinct client segments, such as the institutional and intermediary markets.
  • Sales teams cultivate relationships with both current and prospective clients.
  • The Marketing team is responsible for providing tools and services that promote our investment capabilities to prospective clients, educating them about our diverse strategies and empowering the sales force to win business and market share.
  • The Product Development team is tasked with analysing and reviewing product opportunities. They will lead projects modifying the existing product line, and conduct industry research on competitor products and platforms to assess competitive positioning and pricing.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

  • You are a high-calibre undergraduate student in your final year of study for a finance or economics degree (preferred but not required).
  • You have a working knowledge of financial analysis and markets.
  • You have prior relevant internship/work experience.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are fluent in English; fluency in multiple languages is an advantage.
