Step In, Step Up Foundations In Finance is Morgan Stanleys development Programme aimed at identifying undiscovered talent whilst supporting social mobility and kick starting the careers of Year 13 students who are interested in the industry and/or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) opportunities at Morgan Stanley. Were looking for diverse and underrepresented voices from less privileged backgrounds who are keen to learn about our industry and release their potential. Applicants dont need any experience, just a passion and eagerness to learn about the world of Finance. Through a 4 day programme of workshops, students will gain insights into a number of different areas, including Technology, Investment Banking, Global Capital Markets and Sales, Trading & Research. Students will have the opportunity to delve into our culture and quiz employees through mentoring, networking, technical and professional skills training and panel sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to be considered for a place for the 2026 Investment Banking & Global Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, Research, Investment Management OR Technology Spring Insight programme. Those who join a Spring Insight programme will also gain the opportunity to be considered for an internship the following year and a Future Generation Scholarship. This program will run from 26th August - 29th August 2025. Please pay particular attention to the eligibility criteria below: Students applying for Foundations in Finance must meet the following criteria: Be a Year 13 student and have a university offer to start an undergraduate course at a UK university in Autumn of 2025 On your CV, please list your confirmed university offers and each of your GCSE & A-Level grades or equivalents. Our internship programs are designed to provide a realistic view of Global Capital Markets by having the interns assume the functions of Full-Time Analysts. Along the way, you will obtain a strong foundation in the basic skills of financial analysis and deal execution. You will be expected to start learning how to market the Firms products and services effectively. Roles and Responsibilities The role and responsibilities of Industrial Placement & Summer Analysts vary but may include: You will spend the internship in one or more of our main product groups, building a foundation of financial skills and a solid understanding of the markets The work is challenging, you are encouraged to roll up your sleeves, dig into financial statements and construct innovative solutions You will have a mentor and buddy to aid in your development and to provide greater exposure to GCM and the Firm You will be encouraged to take on responsibility quickly and help bridge various topics from new trends in the marketplace to group overviews You will participate in a mid-point and end-point evaluation to ensure that you are honing your skills and receiving timely feedback on your performance Qualifications and Skills You are pursuing an undergraduate Bachelors or Master's degree with a graduation date between October 2026 and July 2027 You have an ability to manage multiple projects, provide complicated financial analysis, and develop appropriate corporate finance solutions You have extraordinarily high level of motivation and attention to detail You have commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines You have strong written and verbal communication skills Fluency in English is required Business fluency in Mandarin is preferred for the program in Hong Kong Business fluency in Southeast Asian languages is an advantage for the program in Singapore Internship Period Industrial Placement Program: 6 months between January to July 2026 Available in both Hong Kong and Singapore Summer Analyst Program: 10 weeks between June to August 2026 Available in Hong Kong only Application Process and Deadline Application process may vary by location but typically follows: CV On-Demand Video Interview Zoom Interview + Group Discussion Superday Application deadline 1: Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 23:55 HKT / SGT Application deadline 2: Monday, September 14, 2025 at 23:55 HKT / SGT Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
