Placement and duration
Analysts hired in New York are given general offers, then placed into one of the industry coverage groups or Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Opportunities are also available in our regional offices in Houston, Menlo Park, Calgary, Toronto and the Western Region (Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Francisco - Heathcare). During the two-year program, Analysts work on a variety of corporate transactions and have significant responsibility. The work is challenging, and Analysts are encouraged to roll up their sleeves, dig into financial statements and think creatively. Our lean deal team structure allows Analysts to work closely with senior officers on a variety of projects. Analysts will attend and be active participants in client meetings.
Training program
The Analyst Program begins with an intensive, five-week training program in New York, introducing Analysts to the Firm, its businesses, values and culture. Customized by Investment Banking and Global Capital Markets professionals, the classroom-based training covers both the conceptual fundamentals and practical application of subjects such as: accounting, corporate valuation, M&A processes and analysis, modeling and credit analysis. Analysts interact with peers and senior officers to learn about the importance of developing networks, time management and career paths. Analysts are also trained and required to complete mandatory regulatory exams (i.e., Series 79).
