Jun Xu is the Head of Morgan Stanley Private Equity China and a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley, based in Hong Kong. Mr. Xu joined Morgan Stanley in 2005 in Hong Kong and has been contributing to the firm for over 19 years. He joined Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia (MSPEA) in 2008, focusing on China private equity investments. During this time, Mr. Xu led the establishment and expansion of Morgan Stanley’s RMB denominated private equity fund business in China and manages over RMB 7.6bn across three onshore funds: the RMB 1.7bn Fund I (2011), RMB 2.9bn Fund II (2016) and the current RMB 3.1bn Fund III (2021). Mr. Xu was awarded China’s Top 100 PE Investors by China Venture in 2022 and 2023. Prior to joining MSPEA, Mr. Xu served as the Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley China Investment Banking. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Xu worked in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong. Mr. Xu received dual Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Foreign Trade and Applied Computer Science (Honor) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an M.B.A. (Honor) from the University of Michigan.
