Options for Receiving Your Proceeds

Upon vesting, you can sell your shares of stock online using StockPlan Connect. Morgan Stanley offers several choices for proceeds delivery:

Deposit into a Morgan Stanley Account
If you are a current Morgan Stanley brokerage client, we will deposit cash or shares directly into your brokerage account. Your proceeds should be available to you four business days after the trade executes, to account for the standard three-day settlement period that applies to most stock market transactions. If you do not currently have a brokerage account with Morgan Stanley, we will open a limited purpose account for you.

Check via Regular Mail
If you choose this method, Morgan Stanley will mail your sale proceeds to the address we have on file for you.

  • U.S. participants should allow 7-10 business days from the settlement date (the trade execution date plus three days) to receive proceeds
  • Non-U.S. participants should allow 10-15 business days from the settlement date (the trade execution date plus three days) to receive proceeds

Check via FedEx or Courier
Morgan Stanley can send your proceeds via FedEx or courier, for a fee. You should receive the proceeds of your sale in the form of a check 4-5 business days after the trade execution date, to account for the standard three-day settlement period that applies to most stock market transactions.

Foreign Currency Check
Morgan Stanley can send you a check in your local currency 4-5 business days after the trade execution date. You should allow an additional 10-15 business days to receive your proceeds.

Wire Transfer
For a fee, Morgan Stanley can wire proceeds to your bank on the settlement date (the trade execution date plus three days). Please allow an additional 24-48 hours for your bank to post the wire to your account. Wire transfers are in U.S. dollars.

Foreign Currency Wire
For a fee, Morgan Stanley can wire your proceeds to your bank in your local currency 4-5 business days after the trade execution date. Please allow an additional 24-48 hours for your bank to post the wire to your account.
