Credit Risk Analysts play an important role in facilitating the business development initiatives of our Investment Banking and Sales & Trading divisions. You may support Senior Analysts in their analyses of counterparties to ensure that clients can meet their financial obligations, either to investors as debt issuers or to the firm as trading counterparties. This means using both quantitative and qualitative techniques to assess the probability of default and resulting loss, and conducting thorough due diligence of companies’ strategies, management, and financial strength. The Analyst Programme in Credit Risk The two-year Credit Risk Management Analyst Programme is an intensive, hands-on experience. You are typically exposed to all areas of Credit Risk Management and become an important member of the team, with rapidly ascending levels of responsibility under the guidance of more experienced colleagues. Responsibilities vary between departments in Credit Risk Management. You could be:
Launching Your Career As the programme has been designed to give you exposure to the full range of the firm’s products as quickly as possible, you will find yourself on a very steep learning curve. You typically begin with three weeks of training, covering both technical and soft skills. Once you join your team, you will then begin an extensive programme of on-the-job learning. You will be supported in achieving relevant professional qualifications, such as CFA and Securities Institute Diplomas. Developing Your Career At the end of the two-year programme, successful candidates may be able to continue within Credit Risk. Alternatively, candidates may be invited to explore positions in other parts of the firm. Is Credit Risk Right for You?
Requirements A graduate with a minimum 2.1 or equivalent in any degree discipline. Selection Process Following an initial interview, you may be invited to an assessment centre where you can expect to participate in verbal and numerical reasoning tests, a group exercise, a written analysis exercise and interviews with members of the department.
