A DAY IN THE LIFE

I selected Wealth Management…
Because I am passionate about investing and the financial markets, and have a strong desire to develop my marketing, product and financial analysis skills. Through this Program, I had an opportunity to work alongside Financial Advisors and learn about how to effectively guide clients to select appropriate investment products and strategies.

As a Wealth Management Summer Branch Analyst…
I had the incredible opportunity to learn various aspects of the Wealth Management business, including the day-to-day inquiries from an Operations, Risk, and Business Development standpoint to executive decisions and relationship management.

A typical day…
Included working directly with Financial Advisors, the branch management team, information technology, and private bankers. A typical day started at 7a.m. with a meeting with my Branch Manager who played an instrumental role during my internship. I worked on evaluating business metrics, compiling research and data, and assisted in creating presentation decks. Every week I had opportunities to work alongside individuals within Operations, Risk and Business Development and was assigned several projects, which allowed for a hands-on experience and made me feel as though I was contributing to the overall team.

The best part of my summer experience at Morgan Stanley was … 
receiving valuable coaching  and working alongside the Complex Management Team on projects that have significant impact on the cost of doing business. I obtained additional insight on best practices from working out of the other branches within the Complex.

Once I have completed the program, I will have an opportunity to explore…
a Financial Advisor or management position later in my career.
