A DAY IN THE LIFE
I selected Fund Services because...
of the training and development opportunities. Fund Services was an excellent
way to learn about the structure and operation of hedge funds while gaining
exposure to a variety of industry initiatives.
As a Fund Services Summer Analyst...
I gained in-depth knowledge about the financial markets, particularly about
hedge funds and investment strategies. In addition to being motivated and eager
to learn, I had to be able to multitask, prioritize my workload and effectively
communicate. I spent lots of time gathering and analyzing complex information,
which I reported to management.
A typical day for me...
included overseeing daily controls of hedge fund books and records. I monitored
for pressing client issues or new updates in global procedures and ensured
that transactions were properly recorded and that investor classifications
in the system were thoroughly reviewed for proper reconciliation and pricing.
In addition, I remediated investor data and organized metrics for the management
team.
The best part of my summer experience was...
working with colleagues worldwide and being involved in process reengineering
and other demanding projects. I loved being part of a dynamic, constantly changing
environment.
Many former Summer Analysts have gone on to...
become full-time analysts who later move into client relationship management
roles. Some specialize in a particular area of hedge fund administration, such
as Investor Servicing, Tax or Accounting.
