A DAY IN THE LIFE
I selected Finance because…
I wanted to use my business and accounting knowledge in the larger world of
finance.
As a Finance Summer Analyst…
I needed excellent quantitative and communication skills. I also needed to
demonstrate initiative, execute challenging assignments and contribute to
team projects. The firm is full of motivated people who challenged me, and
I was able to work with colleagues at all levels with exposure to senior
managers.
A typical day…
involved company analysis, data collection and reporting. Additional project-based
work provided variety and an opportunity to work with professionals not only
in finance but also in economics, taxation and math.
The best part of my summer experience at Morgan Stanley
was…
the opportunity to be a "real" analyst and determine whether Finance
is really right for me. I enjoyed the practical application that matched my
university coursework and the opportunities to network with people at all levels
of the firm, including management Although my fellow Summer Analysts and I
had a lot in common in terms of skills and aspirations, there was great cultural
and geographic diversity.
