Robert Stolar Joins Morgan Stanley to Lead Newly Formed Family Wealth Group

Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) Private Wealth Management today announced that Robert Stolar has joined the Firm to head a newly formed Family Wealth Group and has appointed an experienced team to serve ultra-high net worth clients and family offices in the United States.


Mr. Stolar, who joins Morgan Stanley from U.S. Trust, will lead the new group as Managing Director, and also will serve as President of Morgan Stanley Trust, N.A.  Joining Mr. Stolar from U.S. Trust are Christine Guidera and Mary Davey.

The new unit, which will focus on families with net worth of $50 million and above, will report to Donald J. Herrema, Managing Director and Head of Private Wealth Management, Americas.

Mr. Stolar started his career in 1986 and was a Senior Manager at Price Waterhouse for two years prior to joining U.S. Trust Company, where he worked for 16 years.  He led the company’s Family Wealth Consulting Group and, subsequently, its Western Region Multi-Family Office Group.  He received a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois, a J.D. from Quinnipiac University and an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University.

Ms. Guidera has broad experience in family office operations and as a fiduciary officer.  Prior to working for nine years at U.S. Trust, she held positions at the Rockefeller Family Office, and the Chase Manhattan Private Bank.  She is a graduate of Fairfield University and received an Executive M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Ms. Davey has a total of 25 years experience serving high net worth clients and family offices.  She joins Morgan Stanley after working at U.S. Trust for the last seven years.
