Placement and duration

Technology Industrial Placement Interns are recruited for 4, 6 or 12 months in London and for 12 months in Glasgow. Placements typically start in June, and alternative start dates will also be considered in line with your course requirements. Students are placed into specific development or infrastructure teams. These programs are designed to offer a real-world, project-based experience that will demonstrate firsthand what it is like to be a technologist for a top financial firm. Industrial Placement Interns who excel in the Program may receive an offer to join the Full-time Technology Training Program.

Training program

Industrial Placement Interns will participate in an induction process that provides an overview of the Firm and the Technology division. In addition to working on a live project, highlights include senior management networking events, team-building opportunities and a technical speaker series.

Developing high-performing, low-latency electronic trading systems, and evolving complex workflows and life cycle management capabilities are just some of the projects available for developers.
  • Infrastructure Teams: Our infrastructure-facing teams develop cutting-edge systems to run our business. Our engineers provide tools, applications and platforms such as the Firm’s networks, computing hardware, operating systems and databases for the Firm’s trading applications, mobile applications and other end-user applications.
