Placement and duration
The Operations Division at Morgan Stanley is the front line of defense for the Firm's financial and operational well-being, and works closely with almost all departments in order to safeguard the Firm's reputation and franchise. Operations partners with Sales & Trading, Finance, Legal, and Technology to execute the Firm's institutional, retail, and asset management businesses - via supporting and settling daily transactions, devising and implementing effective controls, developing strong client relationships, and partnering with its business partners to enable the development of new structures, businesses, and markets.
The Operations Summer Analyst Program gives students an introduction to the Financial Services industry and the Operations Division, as well as an opportunity to develop the personal and professional competencies necessary to be successful within the Division. You be will be placed within a team best aligned to your skills, and will be provided with classroom and on-the-job training to develop a thorough understanding of the business, as well as project work as directed and guided by your manager. Supervision and guidance will be provided by experienced Operations professionals to all Summer Analysts throughout their internship and assignments, to ensure the best and most meaningful internship experience.
Training program
This intensive 10-week program includes a Firmwide orientation covering the overview of Morgan Stanley’s businesses, structure, and strategy, with additional focus on inter-personal skills required to successfully transition from a campus to corporate environment. Training includes business-specific content, product and market overviews, current events and project work. In addition to on-the-job training, you will be provided division specific training by senior executives to provide structured learning experience. Interns are given many opportunities to integrate with peers and senior colleagues through a series of networking, social, charity and mentoring events.
