The Operations Division at Morgan Stanley is the front line of defense for the Firm's financial and operational well-being, and works closely with almost all departments in order to safeguard the Firms reputation and franchise. Operations partners with Sales & Trading, Finance, Legal, and Technology to execute the Firms institutional, retail, and asset management businesses - via supporting and settling daily transactions, devising and implementing effective controls, developing strong client relationships, and partnering with its business partners to enable to development of new structures, businesses, and markets.
The Operations Off-Cycle Internship program is aimed at students who are considering a career in Operations and wish to gain first-hand experience of the role of an Operations Analyst prior to applying for a Full-Time position. The Off-Cycle Internship starts in June each year and is for a period of 6 months, after which candidates will be considered for a Full-time Analyst position starting the following February.
The program gives an introduction to the Financial Services industry and the Operations Division, as well as an opportunity to develop the personal and professional competencies necessary to be successful within the Division. You be will be placed within a team best aligned to your skills, and will be provided with classroom and on-the-job training to develop a thorough understanding of the business, as well as project work as directed and guided by your manager. Supervision and guidance will be provided by experienced Operations professionals to all Off-Cycle Interns throughout the program, to ensure the best and most meaningful experience.
Off-Cycle Interns start their program with participation in a Firmwide Induction Day covering the overview of Morgan Stanley’s businesses, structure, and strategy. This is followed by two days of classroom-based training covering product and industry knowledge, soft skills, and teambuilding activities. Throughout the program, in addition to on-the-job training, Off-Cycle Interns will also take part in networking events, training sessions hosted by different teams and work-shadowing.
