The Investment Management Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week program consisting of one week of training with all Investment Management Summer Analysts and nine weeks working within a specific group. During the 10-week program, Summer Analysts experience the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley by performing a role similar to a Full-Time Analyst.

Training program

The training program consists of a curriculum designed to equip Summer Analysts with the fundamental skills needed in order to be successful in IM. The program is one week long and includes a Firm-wide orientation, business overviews, professional development, technical training and networking events. A speaker series is also a part of training, and runs throughout the 10 week program.

The Marketing group supports the global sales and distribution effort of IM with a focus on several strategic priorities including, increasing awareness of the Morgan Stanly Investment Management brand, deepening of client relationships, leveraging digital marketing, and developing  marketing and sales collateral. The Marketing group consists of several global teams that work together in a collaborative effort to achieve these priorities. These groups include:

 Investment Strategies & Solutions Marketing

  • Teams supporting both the traditional and alternative products provide both the strategic leadership and tactical development of product specific marketing materials. This includes thought leadership pieces as well as other marketing collateral and support product launches. 

Regional Client Segment Coverage

  • Channel marketing focusing on specific client segments such as institutional investors or retail distributors and manages marketing campaigns and events targeted to those audiences. 

Business Development Services (BDS)

  • BDS responds to request for proposals and due diligence questionnaires from prospective and current clients, providing project management, and drafting of content for these documents.

Brand Management

  • The team manages the visual identity for IM as well as having oversight for the design of marketing materials

Digital Marketing

  • The digital team manages the internal and external websites for IM and our email platform.

Role Description:  The Marketing team is looking for a Summer Analyst to:

  • Understanding IM’s business and specific channel needs to most effectively respond to requests
  • Work on a variety of projects across the different marketing teams. Projects may include:
  • Metrics management
  • Product competitive analysis
  • Website implementation
  • Updating of marketing materials
  • Drafting language for marketing materials, proposals
  • Updating stock language in databases
  • Understanding IM’s business and specific channel needs to most effectively respond to requests
  • Work on a variety of projects across the different marketing teams.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

  • Current Junior (class of 2021) in a 4 year bachelor’s degree program with superior academic performance
  • Demonstrated interest in global financial markets
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once and meet associated deadlines
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in financial services industry preferred
