Placement and duration

The Full-time Analyst Program generally starts in the spring or summer and typically runs for three years. Analysts are assigned directly to a specific group, where they are given a rare opportunity to assist clients with financial solutions including M&A, capital raising and other Investment Banking Division (IBD)-related activities. Analysts will develop analytical, quantitative and interpersonal skills in preparation for a potentially successful and rewarding career as investment bankers in Japan.

Training program

All new Analysts will participate in both a Firmwide orientation, covering the Firm's business and the transition from an academic setting to a corporate environment, and an IBD-specific program. The curriculum includes accounting, business overview speaker series and technical skills. Analysts will network with peers, mentors,officers and senior managers through team-building sessions and other organized events.

Responsibilities

The work is challenging; Full-time Analysts are encouraged to roll up their sleeves, dig into financial statements and construct innovative solutions. Assignments vary depending on group placement and typically include:

  • Analyzing financial and operating information relating to corporations and industries.
  • Creating statistical exhibits that analyze comparative financial performance.
  • Building models to depict projected financial results and to value client companies.
  • Developing marketing memoranda.
  • Participating actively in the execution of financings and/or M&A transactions.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

  • You are a student in your final year of study.
  • You have strong communication skills and are fluent in English and Japanese.
  • You have excellent analytical skills and are detail-oriented.
  • You are a quick learner, leader, team player, multi-tasker, and possess strong work ethics and a positive attitude.
  • You are motivated to succeed in the investment banking industry.
