Placement and duration

As a London-based Analyst, you will be placed directly on a desk in Equity Research with opportunities available across a spectrum of sectors. The Program provides graduate students an opportunity to master the skills needed to develop an exciting and rewarding career in Equity Research. You will collaborate with and learn from professionals in the industry and receive significant support from managers and mentors.

Training program

All new Analysts participate in a Firmwide orientation which provides an overview of the Firm's businesses, as well as an opportunity to establish a Firmwide network and aids the transition from the academic to the corporate world. Equity Research Analysts will then attend divisional training which is delivered from both external specialists and internal Analysts covering topics such as financial analysis and modelling, making stock calls and developing proprietary insights. As an Equity Research Analyst, you will be assigned a senior mentor who will help guide your career and prepare you for what lies ahead and a junior buddy who will help with your integration into the department and your daily role

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyse industry data to develop an industry vision; update and build financial models on the companies and industry you follow.
  • Analyse emerging trends in an industry or macroeconomy, write investment notes and report on your team's investment opinions to a sophisticated client base.
  • Learn about a specific industry, how to analyse the companies within a sector and how to write to a specific audience.
  • Assess relative stock valuations and review findings with senior team members, and with internal and external clients; build relationships with global colleagues, salespeople, traders and external investing clients.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

  • You are an undergraduate from any degree discipline in your final year of study.  A financial discipline is not essential, but you must have a strong interest in the financial markets with excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are driven to deliver results.
  • You are fluent in English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You possess intellectual curiosity, focus and creativity, and have a keen research instinct with creative problem-solving abilities.
  • You are committed to maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
