Placement and duration

The 10-week Economics Summer Analyst Program provides students with an opportunity to master the skills needed to develop an exciting and rewarding career in Economic Research. Summer Analysts will collaborate with and learn from some of the most successful professionals in the industry. You will have the opportunity to network with senior management and other representatives through lunches, seminars and social activities as well as interact with our colleagues within Sales & Trading.

Training program

Summer Analysts participate in an orientation program that provides an overview of the Firm's businesses and aids the transition from the academic to the corporate world, creating the chance to establish a network across multiple businesses. Economics Summer Analysts will attend both Firmwide and divisional training where they learn the core skills required to be successful on the job. This includes capital markets IT training and Excel training.

  • Gather and analyse macro economic data to develop a macro view; update and build economic databases and forecasting models.
  • Analyse emerging macro trends in a single country or a region, write short analytical notes and background reports to communicate your team's macro views to internal and external clients, and assess relative performance of different forecasting tools and reviewing findings with senior team members.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

  • You are in your penultimate year, studying Economics, Statistics, Econometrics or equivalent at undergraduate or ideally masters level with a strong interest in the financial markets.
  • You have superb communication skills and are a team player.
  • You are intellectually curious, focused and have excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • You have a keen research instinct and innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • You are committed to excellence in your work and you maintain high professional and ethical standards.
  • Fluency in English is required. Asian languages are preferred.
