Placement and duration

This is a two year rotational program beginning in June. Participants will have a group-specific rotation manager and a buddy for each rotation, both of whom will help assist in the transition from role to role, and who will work with the Analyst’s placement supervisor to oversee his or her professional development.

Training program

The Full-time Analyst Program focuses on business, technical and professional knowledge specific to Morgan Stanley, and will include Internal Audit training designed to provide basic product knowledge, an understanding of Morgan Stanley’s audit methodology, and training in professional skills such as writing, communications, team building and time management.

Responsibilities will vary depending on your role, which may include the following:

  • Develop a working knowledge of business terms and products.
  • Demonstrate awareness of basic accounting principles and auditing standards.
  • Attend audit meetings, and document meeting minutes and walkthroughs.
  • Upload and maintain documentation within the audit work paper tool.
  • Interface with the Firm’s risk and time tracking systems.
  • Gain an understanding of the business units under review (e.g., policies and procedures, roles and responsibilities, systems and processes, organization and controls).
  • Participate in Fraud Brainstorming meetings and assist in completion of the fraud questionnaire.
  • Participate in audit planning and scoping, and assist in drafting audit planning memorandums.
  • Understand risks and controls that require testing and aid in the construction of the Risk and Control Matrix.
  • Create narratives, flowcharts and lead sheets.
  • Assist in creating and executing control tests and clearly document test results.
  • Conduct follow-ups to determine the client’s understanding of implemented system controls.
  • Have a working knowledge of Visio, Excel and Word.
  • Keep managers informed of assignment status.

  • You have or are on track to obtain a 2.1 honours degree or equivalent.
  • You are a team player and excellent communicator.
  • You have advanced technical, quantitative and project management skills.
