Placement and duration

Morgan Stanley offers a 12 month industrial placement for students in their third year of university. It is designed to attract, develop and assess the kind of people we feel are likely to succeed at our firm long-term. 

Training Program

Training begins with a Firmwide induction along with peers from other divisions. The programme combines classroom and on-the-job training to provide valuable work experience. You will be working alongside experienced colleagues on real projects and will gain exposure to all levels of professionals within the Corporate Affairs team. You will receive regular mentoring and coaching, as well as regular evaluation reviews to ensure your career is on track throughout your time with us and you continue to be developed along the way.

Responsibilities

Morgan Stanley is looking to hire an industrial placement student to join its Corporate Affairs Team. Based in London with a team of 13 employees, Corporate Affairs has responsibility for building and maintaining the Firm’s reputation across EMEA. Specifically, the team facilitates Morgan Stanley's communications with media audiences and employees, manages the Firm's core social responsibilities, which include volunteering and providing grants to charities, as well as overseeing all aspects of the brand, including advertising campaigns and sponsorships.

•Carrying out desk research across agreed criteria set, such as paid advertising, Corporate Social Responsibility and alumni activity.

•Compiling metrics reports to track and assess the impact of sponsorships in the region.

•Press monitoring for strategic themes or topics of interest for the Firm. 

•Maintaining a forward features calendar for Media Relations team.

•Working with colleagues in Community Affairs to support the delivery of strategic projects, such as Global Volunteer Month and The Strategy Challenge.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

•You are an undergraduate student with a year in industry as a compulsory or optional element of your degree program, who has outstanding academic achievements, and are on track for a 2.1 honours degree or equivalent.

•You have excellent writing and desk research skills. 

•You have a keen interest in financial services with a proactive work ethic. 

•You are proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word. 

•You are client-service oriented.

•You are able to multi-task with close attention to detail.
