Our HR professionals partner with each of the firm's businesses to provide a full range of services including: human capital planning; creating strategies to attract, develop and reward employees; promoting a diverse workforce; fostering employee engagement; designing competitive pay and benefit plans; and proactively addressing employee matters.
The Credit Risk Management department provides independent credit risk management and oversight for us and protects our capital. CRM’s in-depth knowledge of our clients, markets, and trading products, and its decisions on risk are crucial. CRM works closely with almost every division, giving its professionals unique insight into Morgan Stanley as a whole.
Corporate Treasury manages our global financial resources to achieve our commercial objectives. The department engages with senior management, business units, and regulators to optimize our liquidity and capital positions. It ensures efficiency in accessing the unsecured funding markets and manages our foreign exchange and interest rate exposure. They help to keep us strong.

Operational Risk is the risk of damages to the Firm’s reputation due to internal or external events. Operational Risk Management works with the business units and control groups to help ensure Morgan Stanley has a transparent, consistent and comprehensive program for managing operational risk, both locally and across the Firm, globally.
The Firm Strategy & Execution (FSE) group, based in New York, supports senior Morgan Stanley decision-makers in strengthening our leadership in global financial services. The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of approximately 2,500 employees worldwide. Finance guards our books and records and contributes to firm-wide risk management and reduction. This division maintains relationships with regulators and delivers financial information. Finance is a crucial advisor to our businesses and senior management team.
Morgan Stanley’s Internal Audit Department includes financial, technology and risk auditors from around the world. The Department provides an independent review of the quality of our internal control, risk management, and governance systems and processes. The Internal Audit Department is a vital partner to senior management as they carry out their oversight responsibilities.
The Market Risk team manages all market risk exposures arising from our business activities. Each of its main groups serves a well-defined role: Risk Managers, Risk Analytics (including Model Review), Portfolio Analysis & Risk Reporting, COO and Information Technology. The team helps to minimize risk and maximize returns.
