Placement and duration

The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization’s financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Legal Entity Controllers, Regulatory and Planning groups, Valuation Review and additional sub-groups to manage firm’s external plus internal requirements. The Finance Full-time Analyst Program helps graduates build a solid foundation for a career in Finance. You will be placed within a team best aligned to your skills, and will be provided with ongoing classroom style training as well as thorough on-the-job training designed to help you develop a thorough understanding of the finance division at Morgan Stanley. All Full-time Analysts will have supervision and guidance from experienced Finance professionals from their team to ensure they are set up for success throughout their program.

Training program

Full-time analysts start their Analyst Program with a Firmwide orientation followed by finance specific training covering both technical and soft skills. Analysts will also have exposure to guest lecturers, career development sessions, social and networking sessions.

Responsibilities

The main focus of these roles will be to manage the financial reporting, reconciliation, account maintenance & reporting on a day to day basis. This will include remediation and resolution of issues in consultation with the Finance team at various locations. The roles will require the individual to work closely with colleagues in Finance and other Business Unit.

The Role in Detail

  • Understand the Businesses, the products and inherent risks.
  • Understand the Reporting Systems, and contribute to enhancing the control environment.
  • Daily analysis, reconciliation and substantiation of financial activities to be reported and discussion with the counterparts.
  • Maintenance of accounts within the system
  • Financial Reporting
  • Reporting & resolution of adjustments and breaks.
  • Month end reconciliation of books to reported.
  • Other related tasks and requests.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

  • Strong academic background
  • Must be highly motivated with the commitment required to consistently meet goals.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Excel skills is a must.
  • Basic understanding & interest in Financial Products desired
  • Excellent organizational, communication and relationship management skill
