Placement and duration

The Credit Risk Management Analyst Program is an intensive, hands-on experience. You will be exposed to all areas of Credit Risk Management and become an important member of the team, charged with rapidly increasing levels of responsibility under the guidance of more experienced colleagues.

Training program

The 5-week-long program has been designed to give you exposure to the full range of the Firm's products as quickly as possible. You will find yourself on a very steep learning curve, beginning with a five-week training program covering both technical and soft skills. Once you join your team, you will begin an extensive on-the-job training program.

Responsibilities

Within CRM, responsibilities vary from department to department. You may be:

  • Performing detailed credit analyses of Morgan Stanley's trading and loan counterparties, including multinational corporations, financial institutions, funds or sovereigns.
  • Presenting internal rating recommendations to Credit Committees, conducting research and presenting the risks of a particular industry or sector.
  • Assisting in the approval process by analysing the risk in various loan or complex derivative transactions.
  • Participating in the client due diligence process and modeling the risk of transactions.
  • Interacting with Sales & Trading, Investment Banking, Operations and Legal & Compliance departments to ensure appropriatedocumentation, limits and risk mitigants to minimise potential losses.
  • Monitoring, managing and reporting exposures at a counterpart, product and portfolio level.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

  • You are a high-calibre undergraduate student in your final year of study with a keen interest in finance.
  • You have strong analytical and numerical skills to assimilate complex information rapidly.
  • You have excellent communication skills to condense and articulate complicated ideas and findings clearly and succinctly.
  • You are a team player who can think creatively and maintain high standards of performance under pressure and against tight deadlines.
