Placement and duration

The Corporate Treasury Industrial Placement Program is aimed at students in their penultimate year of university who are studying a sandwich course that involves a year in industry. The Program runs annually, beginning in June. Industrial Placement students rotate around different areas of Corporate Treasury to ensure a broad experience in the department.

Training program

Training begins with a Firmwide induction along with peers from other divisions. This is followed by four days of classroom-based product and technical training. Industrial Placement students will also receive considerable on-the-job training, networking events, mentoring and work-shadowing opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Produce weekly and monthly reports for European ALCO, European Risk Committee and FCA Regulatory meetings.
  • Collate the Contingency Funding Plan (CFP) for major UK Group entities.
  • Support the capital team in FCA stress testing.
  • Analyse the capital and liquidity implications of new Bank & Broker dealer entities.
  • Provide backup analytical support to both the Treasury Capital Markets and Global Treasury Coverage teams.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements

  • You are a penultimate-year undergraduate student with outstanding academic achievements and are on track for a 2.1 honours degree or equivalent.
  • You have excellent communication, interpersonal and client-service skills.
  • You are a team player and adept at working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • You have strong analytical capabilities; ability to summarize complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity.
  • You know Microsoft Office products.
  • You have superb quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
  • You are detail-oriented and have a strong commitment to accuracy.
