Biography

John Hagarty is the Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley. John joined the Firm in 2006 with its acquisition of FrontPoint Partners, a large multi-manager hedge fund firm, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations. Before rejoining Morgan Stanley in 2016, he was Chief Operating Officer and Partner of Diamondback Capital Management, also a multi-manager hedge fund. Prior to the these roles, John ran the technology groups in a variety of global derivatives trading and risk management businesses for Merrill Lynch, Credit Lyonnais Americas and Solomon Smith Barney. John received his B.A. in Computer Science from New York University.
