The 2019 Summit Brings Together Morgan Stanley’s Top Multicultural Leaders

Our Wealth Management Multicultural Leadership Summit gathers top Financial Advisors and leaders to celebrate and amplify diverse voices.

From May 14 through May 16, Morgan Stanley will host the highly anticipated 2019 Multicultural Leadership Summit in Los Angeles where standout Financial Advisors will hear from inspirational speakers from inside and outside Morgan Stanley and work with each other to set new personal and institutional goals.

The Summit seeks to celebrate the leaders at the conference and also demonstrate how Morgan Stanley both values and amplifies the merits of difference and diversity.

Delegates will explore key Modern Wealth Management strategies designed to help clients, and be informed by dynamic main-stage speakers, bolstered by workshops and masterclasses crafted  to help grow and accelerate individual and collective success. The attendees also will gain access to the latest iteration of Morgan Stanley’s sector-leading tools and resources while building real and lasting relationships based on authentic, mutually beneficial connections through the E-180 Braindate platform.

Summit attendees will watch and listen as Morgan Stanley Vice Chairman Global Wealth Management and Senior Client Advisor Carla Harris emcees an hour of powerful conversations with pioneering, visionary CEOs who use their voice and leadership positions to advance next generation leaders. Carla will sit down with Arlan Hamilton to explore how she went from being homeless to building Backstage Capital, a venture capitalist firm meant to invest in and provide opportunities for diverse entrepreneurs.

The Summit audience also will hear from self-made media mogul Nely Galán about her path to the top, and how she now uses her influence to bring others along with her. And the crowd also will listen in on a conversation with Founder & Chairman, Trujillo Group, LLC and Chairman of the Latino Donor Collaborative Sol Trujilo about his role as a digital pioneer and the ways he has put his lifetime commitment to workplace diversity into action.

Prem Ramaswami, Head of Product at Sidewalk Labs, will explain how he has used tech to create solutions to urban planning challenges - building cities of the future, while Digital Storyteller Michael Rain will share his journey as a child new to the US, and how his experiences inspired him to share the stories of other first-generation Black immigrants.

Delegates also will explore the intersection of identity and activism as Morgan Stanley’s Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion Susan Reid moderates a panel with film producer, activist Michael Skolnick and actor Tzi Ma.

Morgan Stanley Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer Audrey Choi will speak with professional golfer Cheyenne Woods about becoming a formidable presence in the world of women’s golf - independent of her famous last name.

The Summit will be live-streamed to our employees all over the country, so that they can share in the experience of community, ideas and momentum essential to who we are as a firm and the clients we serve.
