Great Ormond Street Hospital specializes in rare, complex and life threatening conditions in children. It is the largest center for children with cardiac, neurological and kidney problems in the U.K., and is recognized as one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals.
In 2007, as part of the Morgan Stanley’s Global Alliance for Children’s Health, the Firm made a three-year commitment to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity to raise £10 million towards a new clinical building. Thanks to the financial contribution of the Firm, and the fundraising efforts of our employees in London, we surpassed our goal and gave over £11 million to the campaign. The additional funds assisted GOSH in the purchase of an angio bi-plane machine that uses imaging techniques to visualize the body’s organs in three dimensions.
As a result of these efforts, the Morgan Stanley Clinical Building opened in June 2012. The facility includes new heart and lung, kidney and neurosciences centers, as well as state-of-the-art operating theatres and diagnostic facilities. The building will enable the hospital to treat up to 20% more children while advancing pioneering research programs.
