The Markets Group track is a competitive 24 month non-rotational program. The Markets Group area of the business includes Analyst opportunities in Individual Fixed Income, Capital Markets Management, and Equities. The Analyst program kicks off in early July with a comprehensive orientation and training program designed to help Analysts become acclimated to the firm.

The Capital Markets business unit is comprised of Individual Fixed Income, and Equities.  Morgan Stanley is a global leader in Fixed Income products, providing individuals, corporations and governments around the world with a wide range of services.  Within the division, people perform the functions of sales, trading, research, structuring, and finance.  These professionals at Morgan Stanley actively assess and manage risk, trade securities and interact with clients to structure and execute transactions in a constantly changing market. Analysts are responsible for facilitating and promoting sales / trading activity in Individual Fixed Income with Branch Financial Advisors.

Duties include:

  • Facilitate Fixed Income transactions and sales with Branch system Financial Advisors
  • Create sales ideas with product areas to market to Financial Advisors and clients
  • Promote sales ideas by calling on Financial Advisors in branches with product offerings
  • Assume responsibility for marketing of one product area
  • Assist in national sales training programs
  • Travel to branches for Fixed Income presentations to Financial Advisors

Requirements

Requirements include an undergraduate degree with a relevant major such as business or economics, a minimum 3.2 GPA, and a keen interest in the financial services industry. A resume that shows work experience in a related field is also required.

Selection Process

Depending on your school, interviews may take place on campus or at Morgan Stanley. Interviews are conducted by senior managers, former Analyst Program participants, and Human Resources. Successful candidates can expect two to three rounds of interviews.

Summer Analyst Program Details

The Global Wealth Management Group Summer Analyst Program is a competitive 10-week program. Placements in the Products Group portion of the business include areas such as Alternative Investments, Mutual Funds, Banking & Lending and National Sales Administration. There are also positions available in the Markets Group, Private Wealth Management, GWMG Operations Group and GWMG Information Technology. Placements in these areas include Individual Fixed Income, Equities, Risk Control, Collateral Management, Software Development and PWM Sales. The Summer Analyst program commences in late May/early June (depending on track) with a comprehensive orientation designed to help summer analysts become acclimated to the firm.

The Markets Group business unit is comprised of Individual Fixed Income, and Equities.  Morgan Stanley is a global leader in Fixed Income products, providing individuals, corporations and governments around the world with a wide range of services.  Within the division, people perform the functions of sales, trading, research, structuring, and finance.  These professionals at Morgan Stanley actively assess and manage risk, trade securities and interact with clients to structure and execute transactions in a constantly changing market. Job  Responsibilities

As a business analyst, you are responsible for defining a complete business process and presenting it to the GWM Technology team. As a software developer, the summer analyst creates scripts to automate the testing of functions within the financial advisor workstation.
