GWMG Products Group - North America
The Products Group track is a competitive 24 month program that consists of three eight-month rotations. The rotational aspect of the program consists of positions in Products, Banking & Lending & National Sales Administration. Rotation placements are in areas such as Alternative Investments, Mutual Funds, Retirement & Equity Solutions, Annuities & Insurance, Business Management and Banking and Deposits. The Analyst program kicks off in early July with a comprehensive orientation and training program designed to help Analysts become acclimated to the firm. This business unit encompasses both Morgan Stanley and third-party provider products and services, such as insurance and mutual funds. Morgan Stanley offers brokerage and investment advisory services covering various investment alternatives (equities, options, fixed income securities, mutual funds, structured products, alternative investments, unit investment trusts, managed futures, separately managed accounts and mutual fund asset allocation programs); financial and wealth planning services, annuity and insurance products; and retirement services (defined contribution plans, 401(k) plans and stock plan administration to businesses of all sizes and trust and fiduciary services to individual and corporate clients). Credit and other lending products are components of the Banking and Lending department within the Products Group, including Morgan Stanley Home Loans, which provides residential mortgages. In addition, Morgan Stanley offers cash management services, including deposits, check writing, direct deposit, debit cards and business cash management. Placements may also include departments in National Sales Administration. National Sales Administration National Sales professionals serve individual investors and small-to-medium size corporations and institutions with an emphasis on affluent and high net worth investors. Morgan Stanley’s Global Wealth Management network of financial advisors and wealth advisors provide tailored solutions designed to accommodate individual investment objectives, risk tolerance and liquidity needs. Placements in National Sales Administration include GWM Marketing, Field Talent Management and Business Management. Placements in these areas include Individual Fixed Income, Equities, Risk Control, Collateral Management, Software Development and PWM Sales. Job Responsibilities As a business analyst, you are responsible for defining a complete business process and presenting it to the GWM Technology team. As a software developer, the summer analyst creates scripts to automate the testing of functions within the financial advisor workstation.
