The Summer Associate Program in Prime Brokerage How the program works and the day-to-day experience you can expect Your role and responsibilities will vary widely depending on which area you join: - Sales Create pitch books and perform analysis of business opportunities, learn how hedge funds generate returns, and how the financial community services hedge funds
- Capital Introductions Provide analytical support for the team as it plans and executes marketing plans to connect clients with potential investors, gather news and market intelligence, and update and maintain the databases that support these activities
Launching Your Career The initial training that you receive on starting the program The Summer Associate Program lasts 10 weeks, with an initial week of training and nine weeks of focused exposure to one of the following groups: Capital Introductions or Sales. All Summer Associates will have the opportunity for client interaction. The program also includes lunches with senior managers and social events with Equity Finance professionals and colleagues/classmates around the firm. Besides giving you the opportunity to have a crash course in the hedge fund industry, the program will give you many opportunities to network with senior managers, professionals and colleagues/classmates around the firm. Developing Your Career What you can anticipate as you make progress and after completing the program If you are successful in your summer role, you may be offered a full-time Associate position within Prime Brokerage. Requirements You will be entering your second year of an MBA program. You have an outstanding academic record and a keen interest in the financial markets. Selection Process Candidates are encouraged to attend various Morgan Stanley Sales & Trading pre-interview events, career fairs and/or presentations.
