Your Opportunity as an Analyst in Private Wealth Management An overview of this program’s objectives and how you can benefit Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management is a fast growing department within Morgan Stanley Asia. You will work closely with PWM specialists to develop dynamic and flexible wealth management solutions for your clients. This involves mastering the various aspects of the wealth management process. How the program works and the day-to-day experience you can expect The Asia PWM Analyst Program runs for two years. During that time, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience by working with our Sales Team. The roles and responsibilities of an analyst vary but typically include: - Researching and analyzing investment opportunities and ideas
- Monitoring events in the financial markets
- Developing and preparing marketing presentations
- Analyzing client portfolios
- Executing transactions
- Discussing new investment themes and ideas at portfolio meetings
Launching Your Career The initial training that you receive on starting the program This rigorous program consists of sessions designed to help you: - Build knowledge of the firm’s platform, products, and solutions
- Develop sales and client relationship skills
- Prepare for and obtain securities industry certification (U.S., Europe, and Asia: Series 7, 66, and 31; Asia only: Paper 1, 7, 8, and 9 registered with Securities and Futures Commission)
- Interact with PWM managers and IR mentors
- Network within PWM and across the firm
- Receive specialized coaching in interpersonal skills and aspects of the financial industry through external vendors
- Complete team and individual project work, including managing a portfolio, developing a business plan, pitching to mock clients, and generating viable prospects
Developing Your Career What you can anticipate as you make progress and after completing the program Once you have finished the formal training program, additional ongoing training is encouraged through various programs sponsored by Morgan Stanley’s Learning and Development team, off-site seminars, and support from your Regional Manager and PWM specialist teams. Requirements To apply for the PWM Analyst Program, you should be completing your undergraduate degree by May/June 2009 with excellent academic results Special Requirement for Asia: Fluency in an Asian language, such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Thai, Tagalog, or Bahasa, is required Selection Process Candidates are encouraged to attend various Morgan Stanley PWM pre-interview events on campus, career fairs, and/or presentations.
