Launching Your Career
The initial training that you receive on starting the program

The Private Equity Associate Program begins with an intensive four-week training program in New York, featuring presentations from senior internal speakers and industry experts covering subjects such as:

  • Valuation interpretation and application
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Capital structure
  • Financing solutions
  • M&A process
  • Merger analysis

In addition to the rigorous quantitative training, Morgan Stanley also believes in giving you the necessary tools to grow and develop your role at the firm. Our deal-team structure affords Associates the opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals. Informal networking events allow you to build a network of contacts amongst your colleagues and throughout the firm. We will also make every effort to support you in gaining additional financial or business qualifications that are relevant to your goals.

Developing Your Career
What you can anticipate as you make progress and after completing the program

The first year is designed to give Associates an understanding of how our Private Equity professionals determine a client’s needs and how they meet their strategic objectives. Associates are then well-positioned to build on their broadening skills base.

The firm may provide ongoing training and mentoring to support Associates as they work to advance their career to the next level. At the end of the program, Associates may be considered for promotion to Vice President. If they continue to excel, they can potentially move on to become an Executive Director and, ultimately, a Managing Director.
