Launching Your CareerThe initial training that you receive on starting the programme The Analyst programme begins in July with nine weeks of intensive classroom training. This includes speakers, practical sessions, and the chance to exchange ideas and learn from your peers. Throughout the programme, you will have the opportunity to get to know your colleagues through social events that will help you build your future professional network. During your first two weeks, you will join Analysts from Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, and Private Wealth Management in the combined Institutional Securities Training Programme, which covers accounting, financial modeling, and capital markets. This is followed by five weeks of training and development, including division-specific training in Investment Banking and Sales & Trading, personal effectiveness, and professional skills development. Finally, you will receive two weeks of regulatory training in preparation for the Financial Services Authority (FSA) qualifications, before commencing your first rotation in mid-September. Developing Your CareerWhat you can anticipate as you make progress and after completing the programme In this rotational programme, firm management takes a keen interest in your progress as a Cross-Divisional Analyst and will look to you for fresh perspectives and new ideas. You will be encouraged to take on responsibility quickly with a view to developing your career. To help in this process, you will typically be assigned both a “buddy” and a mentor to act as your confidants and provide you with day-to-day advice. Throughout the two-year programme, you will receive relevant skills-building modules and technical product-refresher training. You will also be encouraged to participate in additional, division-specific training during the course of your rotations. At the end of your two-year programme, we will work with you to try to secure a permanent position within one of our securities divisions, leveraging your cross-divisional expertise and further expanding your career potential within the firm.
