A DAY IN THE LIFE
I chose to start my career in Financial Services because...
of the fast-paced environment and endless learning opportunities.
I selected Credit Risk because...
I wanted to learn to analyze companies' strengths and weaknesses and the industries
in which they operate.
As a Credit Risk Analyst...
it's important to be quantitatively focused and detail-oriented and to communicate
effectively. The firm taught me the details of my focus industry and, while
I have core responsibilities, including company analysis, data collection and
reporting, there are many opportunities to interact with other teams.
A typical day...
involves supporting the team by creating detailed spreadsheets, reading through
company reports and analyst commentary, and speaking with other teams. I focus
afternoons on long-term projects, presentations and other requests from the
department's senior management.
The best part of my job is...
learning something new every day. I'm surrounded by very smart people who are
great teachers and practitioners.
Many former analysts have gone on to...
attend business school or assume more senior roles within the firm. The
company has a great reputation that will follow me through my career.
