A DAY IN THE LIFE
I chose to start my career in Financial Services because...
of the challenging environment and volume of learning and career opportunities.
I selected Operational Risk...
to understand the risk issues of a business. I like observing the firm's activities
and want to understand the strengths and challenges of the company, the industry
and our work within the broader context of the business.
As an Operational Risk Analyst...
I learned a specific industry in detail and new skills. I needed to be detail-oriented,
and be able to communicate effectively and characterize strengths and weaknesses
quantitatively and qualitatively.
A typical day...
involves addressing the team's requests, creating detailed spreadsheets and
reports, and reading company news and analyst commentary. I meet with risk
managers across the bank to brainstorm current issues and make plans to mitigate
them.
The best part of my job is...
learning something new every day.
Analysts typically go on to...
more senior roles within the firm or to business school.
