Morgan Stanley recently garnered accolades from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the International Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (IGLCC) for its commitment to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) diversity and inclusion. The HRC released its 2012 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) on Dec. 8, 2011, and for the sixth consecutive year, Morgan Stanley scored a perfect 100 percent — earning the distinction of "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality." In November 2011, the IGLCC International Business Equality Index named Morgan Stanley among its "Top 15 Most LGBT Friendly Corporations in the World."
The recognition from the HRC and IGLCC is based on the Firm's broad LGBT diversity commitment, including LGBT recruiting efforts and scholarships, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney's U.S.-wide business development program focusing on the wealth planning needs of LGBT couples, employee engagement programs through LGBT employee networking groups (such as Pride in the U.S. and GLEAMS in London), LGBT Ally and Ally Recruiting Programs, transgender-inclusive benefits and LGBT community outreach initiatives.

The IGLCC, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the livelihood of LGBT communities, created its international index to measure the performance of multinational corporations in relation to LGBT issues in the countries where they operate. The results indicate the diversity leadership taken by global corporations within their local communities.
