MSIM Ranks Among Top Managers in P&I International Survey

Morgan Stanley Investment Management took five top-10 spots in Pensions & Investments' International and Global Managers Directory.

  

Morgan Stanley Investment Management took five top-10 spots in Pensions & Investments' International and Global Managers Directory. Growth over the past year in international/global assets managed for institutional clients both in the U.S. and abroad set the stage for improvements over the 2004 Directory's rankings.

In this year's Directory*, MSIM placed fourth among managers of combined global/international accounts for U.S. institutional clients, moving up one spot from last year, with assets under management up 16.5 percent over the same period.

MSIM also placed 10th among managers of combined international/global accounts for worldwide institutional clients.

Other top-10 categories for MSIM were:

  • #4 manager of international accounts for U.S. institutional tax-exempt clients
  • #9 manager of global accounts for worldwide institutional clients
  • #7 manager of combined international/global accounts for worldwide institutional retirement plan clients
Additionally, MSIM ranked 11th for both global accounts for U.S. institutional tax-exempt clients and international accounts for worldwide institutional clients.

The results of the International and Global Directory come after P&I released its Money Managers Directory in May, which focused primarily on rankings of domestic accounts managed for U.S. institutional clients. MSIM took nine top-10 spots in that directory's rankings.
