In addition, on January 3 Bloomberg ranked two Van Kampen municipal bond funds among the top 10 open-end municipal bond funds for 2004. The Van Kampen High Yield Municipal Fund (#5) and the Van Kampen Strategic Municipal Income Fund (#7) returned 7.49 percent and 6.90 percent, respectively, according to Bloomberg. Only funds with more than US$250mn in assets were included in the ranking.

¹The Wall Street Journal rates Category Kings as top-performing funds in each category ranked by year-to-date total returns (changes in net asset values and reinvested distributions) for the period ended December 31, 2004.
