Morgan Stanley Investment Management took the top spot in a survey conducted by FT Mandate of global fixed income managers. The survey ranked managers by volume of reported new business won over the past 12 months.

The article included positive comments from clients. Eugene Philalithis, associate portfolio manager at Frank Russell, told FT Mandate "MSIM had impressed with its strength of proprietary research, commitment to improving that research to enhance its performance relative to the peer group and its top-down research capability."

Harald Steinbichler, portfolio asset manager at BVP, praised MSIM's technical knowledge and "its disciplined, clear investment process."
