According to a survey by Thompson Financial/First Call, Morgan Stanley analysts are the most widely read on Wall Street. The survey targeted institutional investors in North American equities. Morgan Stanley analysts captured eight of the top ten spots.
Mark Edelstone, semiconductor/technology analyst, took first place, followed by Alkesh Shah (Data Networking/Internet Infrastructure), Kit Konolidge (Electric Utilities), Charles Phillips (Enterprise Software Infrastructure) and Louis Gerhardy (Semiconductors).
"These results send an important message about the quality of our work and the importance of proprietary research. Rigorous analysis leads to insightful and unique commentary that helps our clients stay ahead of the curve," said Michael Blumstein, head of North American equity research.
