Morgan Stanley Ranks #47 in Worth Magazine's "50 Companies That Gave the Most"

In their December/January 2001 issue, Worth magazine recognized Morgan Stanley for the Firm's dedication to assisting at-risk youths.

 

In their December/January 2001 issue, Worth magazine recognized Morgan Stanley for the Firm's dedication to assisting at-risk youths. Worth ranked Morgan Stanley the 47th most generous company, citing the partnership with Colin Powell's America's Promise through which the Firm contributes to Communities in Schools. The Firm donates $1 for every hour* an employee devotes to furthering the mission of Communities in Schools: "to help young people learn, stay in school and prepare for life."

Worth calculated the Firm's total giving for 1999 as $24,095,438. Worth and the Council on Economic Priorities surveyed publicly traded companies, ranking each company according to its total giving, a number represented by the amount of cash donated added to an estimate sum of the value of in-kind gifts of goods and services donated by each company.
