In its April 17, 2000 issue, Forbes presents its annual ranking of the biggest companies in corporate America. Forbes compiles the Global 500 based on the composite score of a company's sales, profits, assets and market value. Of the 500 companies assessed, Morgan Stanley took 7th place overall in Assets, 18th place in Net Profits, 28th place in Market Value and 29th place in Sales, resulting in an overall ranking of 11th place. With this achievement, Morgan Stanley moves up from 15th place in last year's Global 500.
