Morgan Stanley Receives Service Award From National Alliance for the Mentally Ill

The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) honored Morgan Stanley with the Charles C. Colt Award for Outstanding Corporate Responsibility.

The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) honored Morgan Stanley this month with the Charles C. Colt Award for Outstanding Corporate Responsibility. Michael Cunningham, Managing Director of Human Resources, accepted the award on behalf of the Firm during an awards ceremony at the Ballroom of the Fifth Avenue Hotel on Tuesday, November 14.

The award recognizes Morgan Stanley's 10-year relationship with Fountain House, an organization dedicated to helping men and women with mental illness. Morgan Stanley Managing Director Guy DeChazal has served on the Board of Directors of Fountain House since 1986.

DeChazal nominated Cunningham to accept the award because Morgan Stanley's Human Resources department works together with Fountain House to facilitate "transitional employment" for Fountain House members. These six- to nine-month positions help victims of mental illness transition back into the workplace, sometimes after hospitalization and years of absence from the working world.
