Morgan Stanley was involved in Japan deals which recently won five law awards from Asian Legal Business. ALB recognizes the achievements of in-house legal teams at investment banks, law firms and solicitors. The awards are based on an assessment of the deals by four key areas: size, complexity, breadth and innovation.

Out of 11 deal award categories, the Firm was recognized for the Legal and Compliance Division's role in the following transactions:

Technology, Media and Telecommunications Deal of the Year: Bain Capital's acquisition of D&M Holdings

Debt Market Deal of the Year: GE Capital Corporation Samurai bond series

Equity Market Deal of the Year: Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group's (MUFG) global offering

Japan Deal of the Year: MUFG's equity investment in Morgan Stanley

M&A Deal of the Year: MUFG's Equity investment in Morgan Stanley

The awards were announced at a reception held at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo last month.
